The CO2 Performance Ladder is an instrument that helps organisations reduce their CO2 emissions. Fastned used the CO2 Performance Ladder to identify where the organisation could reduce its CO2 footprint. It then developed concrete objectives and measures to reduce its CO2 emissions, relative to kWh sold, by 2025 and again in 2030.
Achieving Level 4 of the CO2 Performance Ladder certification required an in-depth investigation into Fastned’s scope 3 emissions. These emissions come from its own building-, transport- and production-related activities.
Fastned is audited on an annual basis by a third party, DEKRA, to become certified and maintain its certification. The fast charging company must also show progress in meeting its stated CO2 emission reduction targets.
By 2025, CO2 emissions/kWh sold reduced by 60% (2022 as base year)
By 2030, CO2 emissions/kWh sold reduced by 80% (2022 as base year)
By 2025, CO2 emissions/kWh sold reduced by 30% (2022 as base year)
By 2030, CO2 emissions/kWh sold reduced by 60% (2022 as base year)
Fastned is on a mission to accelerate the transition to electric mobility. Since 2012, we’ve been at the forefront of European charging infrastructure development, building and operating a rapidly growing network of iconic fast charging stations. Our yellow, nature inspired stations create a welcoming environment for drivers during the 10-15 minutes it takes to charge up to 300 km of range. By offering Europe’s most reliable, convenient and joyful charging experience, we aim to inspire millions to drive on solar and wind energy so that together we can curb climate change. Fastned is listed at Euronext Amsterdam (AMS: FAST).
